11. How do you play?
Playing the game
- Choose character along with deck
- Set cards and draw desired location
- To set cards, you must first
- Find the character card and set it besides the main deck, face up
- Then shuffle the main deck, then set it face down
- Put your hp card next to your character card with the hp token at the highest number
- To set cards, you must first
- Players will then roll a d20 to decide who gets to place their character on the board, anywhere that is not shaded, players will choose positions from highest roll to lowest, this is also how turns are decided, highest being the first, lowest last in that order.
- Each player draws four cards, if you have an ULTIMATE card in your beginning hand, shuffle all your cards back into the deck then draw four again, if you draw another ULTIMATE card, repeat the process
- The game will proceed through each turn as shown in the following phases:
- Phase 1, Dice roll phase, in this phase the player must roll the 6-sided dice and must apply the following effect in which they rolled:
- 1- put a mini D6 with the number one facing up, above a desired skill you wish to improve on your character card (range, attack, movement, or hp). This skill is increased by the die, and whenever you roll another 1 during your phase , die roll phase, when you already have a die on your character card, you must increase the die my one, until it has reached six, then if you roll a 1 again during your phase 1, die roll phase, you can add a d6 with the one facing up to an attribute, if there is already a die there, place it above that die to make a column upon the card.
- 2- draw 1 card from your deck
- 3- roll again
- 4- draw 1 card from your deck
- 5- you may move or attack twice this turn
- 6- draw 2 cards from your deck
- Phase 2, main phase 1, in this phase you have the options of either playing a card, moving, attacking, or using abilities if applies.
- Keep in mind, you may only attack once per turn, unless an effect says otherwise
- To attack, an enemy must be in your range, range is located on your character card, this is the amount of space or closer the target must be in in order to attack them, this can be in any direction not obstructed by obstacles including other players. Once you have attacked successfully, the target must decrease their hp by your ATK, this is located on your card.
- Also, you may only move up to your movement speed, once per turn unless you an effect says otherwise, in any direction
- When using a card, there is an order to how it is used
- You may use any card on your turn, but you may also use certain cards on other players turns as well
- There are four types of cards as shown on the bottom corner or on their name, showing what type they are:
- Card speed 3- this card can only be used on your turn
- Card speed 2- this card can be used on your turn or on an opponent’s turn
- Card speed 1-this card can be used on your turn or on an opponent’s turn
- ULTIMATE card- you must first discard two other cards in your hand to the void zone in order to activate your ultimate ability, these can only be used on your turn unless it shows otherwise.
- When a card has been used, the card goes to the void zone, located besides your deck, all cards sent here must be face up and cannot be used or drawn unless by another effect.
- You can also chain cards to one another, this is when one activates an effect or card (keep in mind, certain abilities, located on the character card, also have card speeds on them), and another card or effect is activated in response to that activation. When this happens, the card with the lowest number speed gets to resolve first, if they are both the same speed, the player who activated their card last gets their card effect to resolve first.
- There are four types of cards as shown on the bottom corner or on their name, showing what type they are:
- You may use any card on your turn, but you may also use certain cards on other players turns as well
- Keep in mind, you may only attack once per turn, unless an effect says otherwise
- Phase 3, end phase, this is the phase before the next turn begins, the turn of the next player. Players cannot have more than seven cards in their hand, if you do, you must discard one card before ending your turn, discard during this phase.
- Phase 1, Dice roll phase, in this phase the player must roll the 6-sided dice and must apply the following effect in which they rolled:
- The game will end when only one player is remaining, you lose by having your hp resolve to 0, you’re then out of the game.
Deck building rules
- To build a deck, there are three types of cards
- A character card, the card that is not placed into the deck, but has all the information of the character
- An ULTIMATE card, which is placed into the main deck
- Effect cards, cards that make up the main deck
- You can have a maximum of 30 cards in a deck, but a minimum of 18 cards
- You can only have up to 3 copies of the same card in your deck, excluding ULTIMATE cards, which are limited to one
- Each effect card has a type, (ie. ninja, vagabond, equipment…)to put cards in your deck, you must first match the type of card to the types on your character card in order to add it into the deck.(types can be found on the upper right hand corner of any card) an example would be adding ninja type cards into a deck where the character chard has the ninja type, adding this card would be fine, however certain effect cards have two types, and can only be added into the deck if both type requirements are achieved. Equipment cards can be added regardless of type. ULTIMATE cards do not have a type, but rather have the character’s name in its title linking them to that character card, you can only have one ultimate in the deck.
